he 365体育投注 day of the Midwife is observed to recall the midwives contributions in fighting patriarchy, inequality and standing up for the rights ofwomen to receive respectful maternity care.

To promote awareness on reproductive health, a health talks on Breast self-examination, antenatal exercises and postnatal exercises was conducted by II year MSc (OBG Nursing) students at Rural Maternity and Child Welfare centres at Alevoor, Kapu and Malpe were from 6th to 8th May 2019. A total of 36 women benefited from this programme.

The resource person for the awareness session conducted for the nurses and midwives of Kasturba Hospital 365体育投注 on 10th May 2019 was Mrs Mary Anne Ranjini Sreshta, Advocate and Public Notary from Udupi. She highlighted on Women’s right and shared her experiences and views related to various acts that benefits women especially at their workplace.

She also advocated ways in which women can defend, protect themselves and stand up for their rights in the society. The postgraduate students also took sessions on standing orders of Obstetric drugs given during the antenatal, intranatal and postnatal period for women for nurses and midwives working in Women and Child block of Kasturba Hospital 365体育投注.?A total of 25 nurses and midwives participated in the awareness program.
