The programme began with an invocation followed by welcome speech by Mrs, Savithri, Secretary, Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Scheme and address by Mr. Yashavanth BK, President, Rotary Club Udupi Royal, Mr. Yogeesh Acharya, President, BC trust Brahmavar Taluk emphasized that the natural feeds to be encouraged; the new-borns should not be deprived of breastmilk and in this regard, an awareness for the mothers on importance of breast feeding is very much essential to promote adequate growth, development and to prevent mortality among children.

Mrs. Manjula, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE, 365体育投注 explained about the physiology of milk secretion, importance and benefits of early initiation and exclusive breastfeeding, techniques, position, problems associated with the breastfeeding and tips to overcome those problems.
