WALTCon2023 Pre-Congress Workshop on Laser Applications in Dentistry

The Lasers are set to revolutionise the delivery of dental care in the coming years, and young budding dental professionals need to acquaint themselves with this technology. The pre-congress workshop on “LASER Applications in Dentistry” will focus on orienting the participants to the basics of the science behind the working of LASERs, the different categories used in dentistry, LASER safety, LASER-tissue interactions, and their clinical applications, by means of short, interesting sessions. There will be a clinical component consisting of a live demonstration of clinical procedures with LASERs, orientation to the equipment and hands-on sessions for the participants on vegetables, meat and extracted teeth. By the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to appreciate the value that LASERs can add to their practice.
